They seem to like organic matter, well drai ed soil, plenty of water, and acidic. But Ive just been giving mine mulch and organic composts and fertilizers and they seem fine. It needs to fruit more than once, be propagated and see gaye the propagated trees do with the cold and fruit quality.

I recall Dr. Zee being very dismissive of other varieties (other than Kaimana) for use here so I am glad you posted it. It would be nice if you could revisit this every year for a while to see if the results are consistent year-to-year.

Welcome, Guest. Top Tropicals Nursery is promoting the 'Sweetheart' lychee as the best lychee in the State of Florida, USA. I would love to see an honest comparison of the pros and cons between the 'Sweetheart' lychee and the 'Mauritius' lychee.
PIN was also billing Sweetheart as best tasting lychee, at least when i visited them several years ago. Anybody have any more info on this particular tree, or any idea as to which heritage it originated? Which variety of Lychee do you prefer, Brewster or Mauritius and why?
